This piece was born out of Meredith Monk’s “View 2” (from Turtle Dreams, ECM Records, 1983). It’s a reworking of Monk’s 4-note pattern into something new, in the spirit of engaging with the art and artists that have come before. To create a dialogue; to place oneself in a continuum from past to present to some future.
